Recording of a memorial service for the men. Reel of analog audio tape, 91 minutes. Ca. January 1956. The recording of the service for Peter Fleming and the other four men held was in Seattle, Washington, perhaps at Whitefield Avenue Gospel Chapel. The recording begins abruptly, a few minutes after the start of the service. Speakers were friends and family of Peter Fleming or of the other four men, including Bert Elliot (Jim’s brother), and John Smart (editor of The Fields), the mission magazine of the Plymouth Brethren Assemblies. The service contained many reminiscences about the men, along with quotes from the letters of Saint, Elliot, and Fleming, and the diary of Fleming and an excerpt of Nate Saint speaking from the film, Conquering Jungle Barriers. From BGC Archives, Collection 687, Tape T14.
